Child’s Play Clinic offers an array of different assessment options to best meet your child’s needs and your family’s financial parameters. We understand that therapy is expensive and we are more than happy to design interest free 2 and 3 month payment plans to assist you in managing this upfront evaluation cost, so that you are able to begin and take advantage of treatment and therapist consultation. If this would help in your family’s situation, Rae would be happy to discuss with you personally to best help your family get the help your child needs.
We offer Sensory Consultations, Comprehensive Sensory Processing Evaluations and Comprehensive Motor Evaluations that each include parent consultation and a sensory history.
Our low level Occupational Therapy Impression Visit aims to identify or confirm an existing issue and establish a necessity and path for treatment. Parents and child participate in this visit. Information is provided verbally, directly to the parents during the visit. This visit does not include a written report.
Our moderate level Sensory Consultation aims to identify if a child has a Sensory Processing Disorder and if those identified weakness areas would benefit from treatment. This is often the option pursued initially when parents would like a second opinion or a fresh or new perspective on their child’s abilities and course of treatment. This includes a concise written report.
Our high level Comprehensive Sensory Processing Evaluation aims to identify if a child has a Sensory Processing Disorder, provides a thorough written report of extensive strengths and weaknesses and a clinical summary in each area of sensory processing (tactile, proprioceptive, vestibular, auditory, visual, regulation and arousal). It also determines whether a child would benefit from treatment. In addition, this report provides home program starter elements (activities and exercises) that the family can put in place immediately. This includes a comprehensive written report.
We also offer a high level Comprehensive Motor Evaluation that assesses both Sensory Processing, as well as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, coordination, visual motor skills and handwriting. This option provides an extensive, in-depth, written report of strengths and weaknesses and a clinical summary in each area of sensory processing (tactile, proprioceptive, vestibular, auditory, visual, regulation and arousal), as well as fine and gross motor skills, ball skills and scissor skills. It also determines whether a child would benefit from treatment. In addition, this report provides home program starter elements (activities and exercises) that the family can put in place immediately. This includes a comprehensive written report.
